Summary

Amends the:

Social Security Act 1991
and
Social Security (Administration) Act 1999
to require holders of certain specified visas issued for temporary protection, humanitarian or safe haven purposes to satisfy a special benefit activity test similar to the one that currently operates in relation to newstart allowance, and other newstart allowance conditions;

to make amendments contingent on the commencement of the proposed
Family and Community Services Legislation Amendment (Australians Working Together and Other 2001 Budget Measures) Act 2002
to ensure that activity test requirements are applied consistently to both special beneficiaries and newstart allowees; and
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Consequential and Related Measures) Act (No. 2) 1999
and
Family and Community Services Legislation Amendment (1999 Budget and Other Measures) Act 1999
to correct cross-references as a result of the enactment of the
Youth Allowance Consolidation Act 2000
